For out-of-status construction employees in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada doubles the cap of its immigration program.
The pilot program's scope is being doubled by IRCC to include 1,000 non-status construction employees in the GTA.
For this public policy, the GTA includes the regions of
- Durham
- Halton
- Peel
- York
If you meet all of the requirements, you can submit an application for permanent residence under this policy. You must;
- have entered Canada as a temporary resident but currently have no status
- live in Canada and have been here for at least 5 years
- have the right work experience
- have family in Canada
It is possible for eligible people to include their spouses, partners, and dependent children in their application for permanent residence, which must be submitted by January 2, 2024.
