What is express Entry

Since Express Entry launched Canada has been selecting candidates based on their CRS score rather than “first come first serve”.

CRS score depends on criteria like age, work experience, education, language score, and Canadian background.

Express Entry provides a pathway to permanent residence for skilled workers in Canada or overseas.

For potential skilled foreign workers, Express Entry will result in fast processing times of six months or less.

Express Entry manages applications for permanent residence under these federal economic immigration programs:

• the Federal Skilled Worker Program
• the Federal Skilled Trades Program
• the Canadian Experience Class

Through their Provincial Nominee Programs, provinces and territories can also choose applicants from the pool of Express Entry to fill positions of their local labour market.

Quite recently, IRCC has announced that targeted draws are likely to begin starting in spring 2023.

This means the government is going to target in demand occupations beside their CRS scores. In other words, your background in a particular occupation or sector will have a major effect beside your score.
