Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he wants Canada's immigration system to relax its stance on visa processing..
and place less emphasis on the risk of travelers overstaying their short-term permits.
While the system is built on "Prove to me that you won't remain if you come", Trudeau stated that he had requested that Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada adopt a less defensive stance when issuing visas especially when it comes to family reunification.
This conversation took place on February 10th in a question and answer session when an international student described being hospitalized for seven months but getting rejection for her mom's visitor visa twice during this difficult time of her life.
